YG BERBHG KOL. BERSEKUTU (PA) PUAN SRI TO’ PUAN DATUK SHARIFFA SABRINA SYED AKIL
Born and raised in Penang, Yg Bhg YBhg. Kol Bersekutu (PA) Puan Sri To’ Puan Datuk Shariffa Sabrina Syed Akil received her early education in St George’s, Penang. Growing up, she spent a lot of time with nature, trekking the jungle and waterfalls. She owns Tanah Aina Resorts, a group of exclusive eco resorts located in Pahang and Johor. Puan Sri is also the President of the Women’s Sports and Fitness Foundation Malaysia and is Patron of Pusat Anak Permata Negara Raub, Pahang. She holds a black belt in taekwondo and is also a certified Chef in Patisserie.
DR ABDUL RAZAK ABDUL RAHMAN
Born in Melaka, Dr Abd Razak received his Bachelor’s Degree from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Master’s Degree from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom and his PhD from Universiti Putra Malaysia. He was a teacher at Malay College Kuala Kangsar and is now a lecturer at Universiti Putra Malaysia, teaching Community Development and Programme Planning and Evaluation. An avid reader and sports enthusiast, he is also interested in volunteerism and is now the Deputy Commandant for SUKSIS UPM.
Graduated from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam with both LLB (Hons) and LLM, Bazlinda has worked in the Parliament of Malaysia for the Deputy Minister of Health. In the private sector, she’s currently a practising lawyer in Messrs Zamri Idrus & Co. She was an EXCO in the Women Sports and Fitness Foundation Malaysia (WSFFM) and this is when she was introduced to PEKA. A person who enjoys outdoor activities, she is now the Secretary General f PEKA. A firm believer of PEKA as a platform to nurture the younger generation in loving nature, she also believes that NGOs play a key role in working hand in hand with the Government.
ASSISTANT SECRETARY GENERAL
A graduate from Upper Iowa University with a Bachelor Degree in Science majoring in Psychology, Hasbe’s real passion is applying her knowledge to building communities and conducting social researches. She was previously the head of Community and Charity Services in a local social enterprise and now heading operations team in a startup company, and has also worked at and with various NGOs. Her experience ranges from conceptualizing ideas to a full blast fund-raising events. Her expertise include event management, conducting researches for academic purposes and strategic community development.
ABANG RAHMAN HAMID
A Sarawakian who spends his time travelling between his hometown Kuching and Kuala Lumpur, Rahman received his Diploma in Medical Science Technology, Bachelor in Sc (Biomedical) HONS and Masters in Engineering (Safety, Health & Environment) from UM. Currently managing his Allergy Lab and as a Director for Global Allergy Centre @ Global Doctors Specialist Centre. Besides volunteering for PEKA, he is currently also volunteering as Programme Coordinator (Sarawak) for 1Malaysia Youth (1M4U), and involved in fashion industry such as Islamic Fashion Festival (IFF) & Malaysia Tourism events. A person who loves nature, especially the ocean and the beach, he enjoys sightseeing in nature.
SYAKIRAH MD SAADON
Currently a student in INTI International College Subang, Syakirah is completing her studies in Industrial Engineering under the American Undergraduate Program. Growing up, she has spend her time following her mother to sports and outdoor activities and has started being involved with PEKA at the tender age of 14 through her involvement in Women Sports and Fitness Foundation Malaysia and Alumni- Cempaka International School.
YM Tengku Loreta Tengku Dato’ Setia Ramli Alhaj
A graduate of B.A Communication Studies from Michigan University and M.A Telecommunications Management from Ohio University, Tengku Loreta started her career in MEASAT BROADCAST NETWORK SYSTEMS SDN BHD in the News and Current Affairs and subsequently Prudential Assurance as Financial Planner, Kontena Nasional Berhad as Business Development Manager and currently working in Malaysian Green Technology Corporation. Aside from PEKA Malaysia, she is was also involved in other charity bodies such as Soroptimist International Club of Ampang and Rumah Amal Cahaya Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (RACTAR) . She spends her free time with outdoor and indoor fitness and sports activities.
A business owner, Daniel is also a member of Central Committee, Infinite Qigong Association Malaysia. Through his involvement in Qigong – an excercise and meditation methods that involves nature and natural forces, Daniel is inspired to act for nature and join the cause to preserve natural environment.
Graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelors Degree in International Business and Minor in Marketing, Andy has worked in various industries, from Advertising & Consumer Research in New York City, Market Researcher in Kuala Lumpur and is currently the Chief Operating Officer for a Structural Demolition Specialist in Kuala Lumpur. Through implementation of Green Demolition Practices, he has collaborated with various NGO and Non-Profit Organizations benefitting Orphanages, Orang Asli Communities, etc… by contributing recyclable and upcyclable materials from his demolition projects. These materials are then reused/refurbished as building or architectural materials.
An avid lover of mother nature since a very young age, and strongly believes that “The more you learn to appreciate the nature, the more you shall learn to appreciate life”
