Established in 2010, PEKA was formed with the vision to save the oldest rainforest with all its biodiversity from extinction, as part of the total living environment for people. Its mission is to be a force in ensuring the preservation, protection and conservation of the natural environment.
Founded by Puan Sri To’ Puan Datuk Shariffa Sabrina for her love of nature and belief in preserving the natural heritage, PEKA has strictly been run by non-paid volunteers since its inception. Its office is nominated every 2 years through general elections held during Annual General Meeting. To date, PEKA Malaysia has received over 15,000 likes and followers on Facebook ; while, PEKA have more than 300 registered members. Since 2015, PEKA has formed 6 state branches – Pahang, Perak, Selangor, Kedah, Penang and Negeri Sembilan.
However, in 2019 Peka revamped the branch system to chapters in order to be more accessible and more efficient in carrying out our mission.
